One of the creepiest things I’ve heard was when a patient, who was unfortunately nearing the end, looked straight at me and said, “I can see my mom over there by the window.” There was no one there, and he described her in detail, right down to the dress she wore when he last saw her. It gave me chills, especially since he passed away shortly after. Moments like that really make you think about the connections we have, even in the final moments of life.
