It’s interesting to reflect on how our childhood experiences shape our own homes! For me, one major aspect I’ve changed is the approach to communication. In my childhood home, we often avoided difficult conversations, but I’ve made it a priority to foster open dialogue in my own family. I encourage expressing feelings and opinions, which has helped create a more supportive environment.
In terms of house rules, I remember strict screen time limits at home, so I’ve embraced a more balanced approach with flexible guidelines that allow for both play and downtime. This way, we can enjoy technology while also focusing on family time.
Decor-wise, my childhood home was quite traditional and formal. I’ve opted for a more relaxed and eclectic style that showcases my personality and includes personal touches from travels and family memories. It creates a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels like a true reflection of who we are.
How about you? What changes have you made?
