Oh, I’ve got a classic for you! So, a couple of years ago, I decided to bring my homemade cupcakes to a potluck at work. I had spent all night baking them and was feeling pretty proud. When I got to the office, I set them out on the table and went to grab a drink.
As I was filling my cup, I overheard someone say, “Wow, these look great! I wonder who made them!” I beamed with pride and couldn’t resist announcing that they were mine. But just as I said that, I realized I had forgotten to take off the paper liners that were supposed to come off with the cupcakes. I had just made a mess of frosting and decorations on top of the wrappers!
The whole room erupted in laughter, and I turned beet red. Instead of being the star baker, I became the “wrapper queen.” To make matters worse, someone dared me to take a bite while leaving the wrappers on, and I did. It was like trying to eat a cupcake in a paper suit!
In the end, it turned into a funny moment that everyone still remembers, and I learned to double-check my baked goods before presenting them! Now, whenever there’s a potluck, I make sure to let everyone know I’m the “wrapper” again. What’s funny is that now it’s become a running joke at work!
