Have you ever given a gift to someone you couldn’t stand? What was the gift and what made you dislike that person?
I once gave a really expensive bottle of wine to a coworker I couldn’t stand. I always found them to be arrogant and dismissive, making it hard to work together. However, it was their birthday, and I felt obligated to acknowledge it since we were in the same office. I thought the fancy wine would be an ironic gesture — something nice that they might never appreciate. It was my way of fulfilling the social norm without letting my true feelings show!
