What’s an assumption you had about the world that changed after you traveled to another country?
One thing I always assumed was universal is the concept of personal space. Growing up, I was taught that maintaining a certain physical distance during conversations was respectful. However, when I traveled to places like Italy and South America, I quickly realized that people often stand much closer to each other when talking. It definitely took some getting used to! It made me appreciate how cultural norms can vary so widely and how important it is to be open-minded while traveling. What about you? Have you had any similar experiences?
