I remember vividly where I was when the planes hit on September 11, 2001. I was in school, in my classroom, when the news broke. The teachers were visibly shaken, and we could hear murmurs in the hallways. Eventually, they brought a TV into the classroom, and we all sat in silence, watching the events unfold. It felt surreal as the day went on; I remember the fear and confusion among everyone, and the impact it had on our community and the world. It’s a day that’s forever etched in my memory.
