It can definitely be a challenge to stay connected without social media! I focus on quality over quantity when it comes to maintaining friendships. Here are a few strategies I’ve found helpful:
Scheduled Hangouts: I set up regular meet-ups, like a monthly dinner or coffee date with friends. Having something on the calendar gives us all something to look forward to.
Group Activities: Joining clubs, sports teams, or classes allows me to meet new people and spend time with friends in a more social setting, which makes it easier to connect.
Phone Calls: I try to pick up the phone for a chat instead of texting. It’s more personal and I can catch up more meaningfully.
Letters and Postcards: Writing letters or sending postcards is a fun and personal way to stay in touch, and it adds a nice touch of nostalgia.
Shared Interests: Focusing on activities or interests we both enjoy helps us stay connected through those experiences, whether it’s a book club, hiking, or attending events together.
By being proactive and finding creative ways to connect, I’ve been able to maintain my friendships while still staying off social media!
