When I realize a book isn’t living up to my expectations, it’s a mix of disappointment and curiosity. I start reflecting on why it’s not resonating with me—maybe the characters feel flat, the plot is dragging, or the writing style isn’t engaging. I can’t help but think about what could have been improved or how different choices might have made the story more compelling. Sometimes, I find myself skimming, hoping for a redeeming moment, while other times, I just set it down, acknowledging that not every book can capture me. It’s a bittersweet part of being a reader, but it’s also a reminder of those incredible reads that do leave a lasting impression. How do you usually cope with that feeling?
