As a former leash kid, I can definitely relate! Growing up, my parents used a harness to keep me safe in crowded places, and while I found it embarrassing at the time, I can now see the practicality behind it. It taught me the importance of staying close in busy areas and being aware of my surroundings.
Now as an adult, I think it played a part in my strong sense of boundaries and independence. I appreciate the freedom I have in public spaces, probably because I experienced a bit of that restraint as a child. It’s funny how those childhood experiences shape us! How about you? How did being a leash kid influence your upbringing?
