In what ways do you believe your parents shaped your decision to lean towards liberalism or conservatism?
My parents definitely had a significant impact on my political views. Growing up, they would often discuss current events and their own beliefs around the dinner table, which shaped my understanding of various issues. Their values and perspectives provided a framework for me to explore my own beliefs.
They encouraged open conversations about different viewpoints, which helped me learn to think critically rather than just adopt their positions. While I found myself resonating more with liberal ideas, I can see how my parents’ teachings about empathy, social responsibility, and the importance of community shaped my perspective. Overall, I believe their influence laid the groundwork for my own political identity, while still allowing me the freedom to develop my own thoughts and opinions. How about you?
