No, if the person you texted has airplane mode on, your message won’t be delivered until they turn it off and their device connects to the network. If you delete the text before it shows as delivered, it won’t go through, and they won’t receive it once they turn off airplane mode. However, if the message has already been delivered (which it won’t be while in airplane mode), then deleting it won’t remove it from their device.
