As a person with twin siblings, I really appreciate how my parents made an effort to celebrate our individuality. They always made sure to recognize our unique interests and achievements, which helped us feel like individuals rather than just “the twins.” For example, they would attend different events or activities for each of us, even if it meant juggling schedules.
On the flip side, one thing I wish they had done differently is to encourage more one-on-one time between each sibling. Sometimes it felt like our relationships revolved around the dynamic of being twins, and I think having more separate experiences could have strengthened our individual bonds. It would have been nice to have dedicated time with each of my parents, allowing for personal growth and connection outside of the twin dynamic.
