I can share that many people with PTSD who initially approached therapy with skepticism often found it to be beneficial, even if they didn’t expect it to be. Some reported that their therapy sessions helped them to better understand their trauma, develop coping strategies, and process their feelings in a safe environment.
For those who were uncertain, finding the right therapist or approach was crucial—cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), or even talking therapies could resonate differently with each individual.
Interestingly, many eventually admitted that even in the moments when they felt resistant or doubtful, the act of talking about their experiences often brought relief. It can be a tough journey, but for many, it’s been a valuable step toward healing. Did you have any particular experiences in mind that you were curious about?
