As a teacher, the potential dissolution of the Department of Education raises significant concerns for me and many of my colleagues. The Department plays a crucial role in providing funding, resources, and support for various educational programs and initiatives. Cuts to education often lead to larger class sizes, reduced resources for students, and diminished support for teachers, which ultimately impacts the quality of education our students receive.
I’ve already seen some effects in our school, such as limited access to essential resources and professional development opportunities. When funding decreases, it puts more pressure on teachers to find creative solutions while trying to meet the diverse needs of our students. It’s disheartening to think about how future generations may be affected if these cuts continue.
Education is an investment in our future, and I believe maintaining strong federal support is essential for equitable access to quality education. We need to advocate for our students and ensure that they have the opportunities they deserve.
