Growing up, my family had a tradition of taking a “family meeting” once a month where we would all sit down, share our thoughts and feelings, and talk about any issues or plans for the upcoming month. I thought this was something every family did until I got older and realized that many people rarely have those open conversations. It helped us stay connected and build strong communication skills, but I didn’t realize how unique it was until I heard friends talk about how they just never had those discussions. What about you? Did your family have any interesting traditions that seemed normal at the time?
