One of my worst camp experiences was during a summer camp when I was around 12 years old. It started out great—lots of fun activities and new friends. However, on the second night, a huge storm rolled in. We were all told to grab our things and move to the main lodge for safety. In the chaos, I lost my favorite stuffed animal and didn’t realize until we were already inside.
To make matters worse, the power went out, and we were stuck in the dark for hours. The atmosphere quickly went from exciting to frightening, especially when the thunder kept booming and the wind howled outside.
After the storm passed, we were finally allowed to go back to our cabins. I searched high and low for my stuffed animal, but it never turned up. I ended up feeling homesick and anxious for the rest of the trip. It was a mix of lost belongings, bad weather, and restless nights that made it a camp experience I’ll never forget—though not in a good way!
