One time, I casually mentioned at a gathering that I’d been on a safari in Africa. I thought it was just a fun story to impress my friends, but when they started asking for details, I panicked! I ended up fabricating an elaborate tale about tracking lions and camping under the stars. It spiraled out of control when a couple of friends wanted to see photos, so I had to scramble and find random pictures online to pass off as my own experiences. Eventually, one of them did some digging and found out I had never even been to Africa! It was a bit embarrassing, and it took a while to regain their trust. Now I stick to the truth—even if it’s less exciting!
