What’s the most outrageous and disconnected thing you’ve witnessed a wealthy person say or do?
One of the most outrageous things I’ve seen was when a wealthy socialite suggested that those struggling financially just need to “work harder” and “make smarter choices” during a public event. It was stunningly out of touch with reality, as it completely ignored the systemic challenges many face, like job availability and access to education. It highlights a disconnect that can exist between privilege and the everyday struggles of the average person. What about you? Have you come across any similarly tone-deaf comments or actions?
