What do you think is more challenging: crafting a film script and seeing it through to production, or writing a book that gets turned into a movie?
That’s a great question! Both paths have their unique challenges. Writing a film script can be tougher because you need to condense your story into a tighter format with strict structural guidelines, all while appealing to producers and directors who will ultimately need to decide if they want to bring it to life. Plus, navigating the film industry to get your script produced can be quite daunting.
On the other hand, writing a book gives you more freedom to explore character development and world-building, but the challenge then lies in adapting that material effectively for the screen. Not all books translate well into film, and capturing the essence of your story in a different medium can be a huge task.
Ultimately, I think it depends on the individual’s strengths and experiences. Some may find the collaborative nature of filmmaking more challenging, while others may struggle with the solitary act of writing a book. What do you think?
