As a bank teller, I’ve encountered some really surprising moments that stick out in my mind. Here are a few:
Large Withdrawals: I once processed a withdrawal for over $300,000. It turned out to be a business owner who needed cash for a major purchase. The calmness and ease with which they handled such a huge sum was impressive and surprising.
Unexpected Deposits: I had a customer who came in to deposit a check for $1 million. It was a settlement from a long legal battle, and hearing how it changed their life was eye-opening.
Generous Cash Gifts: There was one instance where a grandmother came in to withdraw a large amount of cash to give as gifts for her grandchildren’s college funds. She had saved up for years, and it was heartwarming to see her excitement.
