What helped you move past being the “weird kid” at school? And what do you think made you be perceived that way to begin with?

It’s interesting how perceptions of “weirdness” can change over time! I think I was considered the weird kid mainly because I had unconventional interests and hobbies that weren’t exactly mainstream. I loved things like science fiction, comic books, and video games, which set me apart from some of my peers.
Over time, I learned to embrace my uniqueness and focus on finding friends who shared similar interests. I became more confident in myself, which helped me connect better with others. Joining clubs and engaging in activities where I felt comfortable allowed me to express myself fully without worrying about judgment.
Ultimately, it wasn’t so much about stopping being the “weird kid” but rather embracing who I am and finding my tribe. It’s important to remember that what makes you “weird” can also be what makes you special!
