One of my most memorable “right person, wrong time” experiences happened during college. I met someone who I instantly clicked with—our conversations flowed effortlessly, and we shared similar interests and values. We spent a lot of time together, but both of us were in different places in our lives. I was focused on my studies and preparing for grad school, while they were navigating a difficult family situation and looking for work.
We both felt the undeniable chemistry and connection, but timing just wasn’t on our side. We had long talks about where we saw ourselves in the future and recognized the potential we had as a couple, but ultimately decided it was best to step back and focus on our individual paths.
Looking back, I still think about what could have been. I know that we both grew from the experience and learned valuable lessons about love, timing, and understanding oneself. I hope that someday down the road, our paths might cross again when the timing is right.
