One time, I saw the word “quinoa” and I confidently pronounced it as “kwin-oah.” I had no idea it was actually pronounced “keen-wah.” I couldn’t stop laughing when I found out—it sounded like I was trying to summon a magical grain! What about you? Any other hilarious mispronunciations?
