I remember a time in college when I had a friend who was really good at finding loopholes in rules. During a group project, the syllabus stated that we had to submit our work in a specific format but didn’t specify what the file type should be. My friend submitted our presentation in a less common format that was technically acceptable under the wording of the rule but made it difficult for others to access and review. While he followed the letter of the rule, his choice seemed to undermine the collaborative spirit of the assignment. It created confusion and added extra work for everyone else to convert the file. It was a classic case of being technically right but not truly considerate of the team dynamics.
