If you could choose to be any superhero—considering you’d also have to endure their significant canonical traumas (excluding their ultimate demise)—who would you pick and why?
If I had to choose a superhero while also experiencing their canon main timeline trauma, I would pick Spider-Man (Peter Parker). His story resonates deeply with the struggles of balancing responsibility, loss, and personal sacrifice.
Peter faces significant trauma throughout his life, from losing Uncle Ben to various heartbreaks and the burden of his responsibilities as a hero. This experience forces him to grow and develop resilience, teaching him valuable lessons about compassion, perseverance, and the importance of making tough choices.
Despite the heavy trauma, his unwavering sense of hope and commitment to doing good, even in the face of personal loss, is incredibly inspiring. While it wouldn’t be easy to endure those hardships, I admire Spider-Man’s ability to find joy and purpose amidst the pain. Plus, swinging through the city and having access to such incredible powers would make the journey worthwhile, despite the challenges.
