That’s quite an unexpected request! I’d probably take a moment to understand what he means by going to a Psych Ward for that. I’d ask him why he thinks that’s necessary and what he hopes to achieve there. If he’s feeling confused or overwhelmed about relationships, I’d want to have an open conversation about his feelings and what he’s looking for in a partner. I might suggest exploring dating in a more conventional way first, and ensure he knows I’m there to support him, no matter what. Communication is key!
